The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and work effectively in team or individual settings.  Excellent communication skills are required.  Candidate must also have AutoCAD experience and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.  A general understanding of instrumentation and control as it relates to process design work and a working knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 192 and 193, NFPA 59A, NFPA 54, and ASME B31.3 is desired.  Candidates must possess a BS in mechanical or chemical engineering and be working towards their F.E./P.E..  

A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.

This person will primarily support design projects in the natural gas sector with a focus on natural gas metering and regulation, liquefied natural gas and compressed natural gas facilities.  

Examples of the position responsibilities include:

  • Prepare process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), piping design drawings, and equipment general arrangement drawings
  • Develop Bill of Materials to accompany piping drawings
  • Assist in the development of hazardous area classification drawings
  • Perform line sizing calculations
  • Perform process equipment (e.g., heat exchangers, boilers, pumps) sizing
  • Perform site visits to utility and industrial client facilities to review existing process piping and equipment layouts
  • Assist in preparing various reports (i.e., facility energy assessments, storage tank and equipment assessments, third party design reviews)
