Sanborn Head was responsible for the conceptual design, pilot testing and initial design of the 220-ton cooling and heating geothermal system. Sanborn Head worked with the Maintenance Service Department to understand how they operate their existing systems.   We then developed the appropriate pilot test program which included a 1,500-foot deep test well into the bedrock, groundwater quality testing, geophysical borehole logging, and a full-scale thermal load test.  By understanding the current operational issues and the results of the pilot test, we were able to develop the initial well field design to address these issues to reduce future operational and maintenance costs.
