Sanborn Head assisted a large industrial client with the management and engineering of process and potable water supplies. Water usage for this client is approximately 3.5 million gallons per day (MGD) for potable and high quality industrial process needs, or the equivalent demand of a city of 50,000 people. Sanborn Head’s work helped our client expand production and potable water needs including:

  • New Source Development - Siting, constructing, testing, and permitting new large diameter water supply production wells;
  • Wellfield Management - Application of a three-dimensional numerical model of the regional bedrock aquifer to aid in developing wellfield management strategies to increase water supply production while limiting adverse impacts to other users of the aquifer;
  • Design and Construction of New Pumping and Conveyance Facilities - Integrating the new production sources into existing water treatment and distribution systems through about one mile of pipeline through and beneath a heavily developed active industrial facility; and
  • Design of New Water Conveyance and Treatment System - Piping and industrial process water pretreatment systems to support access to several MGD of public water through an extension of public water service to the facility.
