LNG/CNG Fuel Conversion

At Sanborn Head, we understand that in many cases existing infrastructure at industrial/manufacturing facilities, campus settings, or municipal operations has been in place for decades and may be in need of modifications.  We can recommend fuel conversion from No. 2 or No. 6 fuel oil to liquefied natural gas (LNG) or compressed natural gas (CNG).  In many cases, the economics are such that LNG/CNG fuel conversion projects may pay for themselves in less than two or three years.

Our staff perform feasibility studies to assess our clients’ energy needs and work with decision-makers to clearly identify opportunities to convert their facilities to natural gas-based fuel sources.  As part of our evaluations, we consider the location of facilities, peak and base-load power needs, and our clients’ expansion plans; among other related factors.

Sanborn Head’s staff provide mechanical process engineering, electrical engineering, and site civil and environmental engineering to develop projects that meet our clients’ needs.  We tailor our engineering studies and design/permitting/construction projects depending on site-specific opportunities.  Due to declining natural gas prices, we routinely find that projects that may not have been economical in the past are now smart business investments.
