Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation’s Central Landfill is the primary solid waste disposal facility in the state. The landfill accepts only Rhode Island-generated waste and serves about 97 percent of the state’s residents. The landfill gas management system feeds the nearby 30-megawatt landfill-gas-to-energy facility.

Sanborn Head was retained to provide design and compliance services related to the landfill gas collection system. Our services have included reviewing and evaluating gas collection performance, preparing system expansion and retrofit designs, updating and maintaining facility as-built information, and providing compliance assistance.
Our team also assisted in successfully expanding the Gas Collection and Control System into new disposal areas while maintaining, and often improving gas flow.
