Chip is one of the founders of Sanborn Head, and he is sought out for his expertise in geochemistry and his deep understanding of hydrogeologic and environmental challenges.

Chip has extensive experience with Superfund sites and has developed a long-standing working relationship with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. Over the course of his career at Sanborn Head, Chip has worked on hundreds of projects here in New Hampshire, across the country, and around the world, including lead mines in Missouri, a “Mega-Sediment” site in New Jersey, active and closed landfills across New England, and industrial sites in the Netherlands, Brazil and China. Chip attended Dartmouth College; he earned a master’s degree and PhD in geochemistry from Harvard University.
Chip’s favorite part of working at Sanborn Head is tackling his clients’ highly technical challenges and helping to make their vision a reality. Chip is inspired by the opportunity to mentor and train younger staff, and he enjoys rolling up his sleeves and working side-by-side with colleagues.
Chip serves as Sanborn Head’s corporate Secretary. Chip also participates in a variety of professional organizations and is the vice chair of the New Hampshire Chapter of the Environmental Business Council of New England.
In his free time, he enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, including alpine skiing and hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire. In the summer, Chip enjoys being out on the water on boats that are powered by paddle or motor.
Chip is Professional Geologist in Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington; he is a Certified Geologist in Maine.
